This loan is provided to hill tribe farmers in the Chaing Rai province of Thailand. This loan will be used to provide borrowers with needed goods as opposed to cash or financial credit. It will be used to buy organic chickens that lay eggs that are then sold back to Hilltribe Organics at a premium price. The loan is repaid by farmers handing back the chickens at the end of the loan period. The chickens are sold to the food industry and the proceeds used to repay the loan. Any shortfall is met by Hilltribe Organics. Farmers are provided with all training and support necessary to acquire the skills necessary to farm chickens organically. By supporting this loan you are helping vulnerable hill tribe communities to increase their income and preserve their way of life.
