Affio (standing for Affairs In Order) is an innovator in a new market for legal services. The Directors believe that this market – self-lawyering – is driven by consumers’ increasing willingness to handle their own regulated activities with the help of technology.
It is the Directors’ opinion that this trend is changing the balance of power between lawyers and the consumer. Affio gives consumers the ability to handle a legal issue, process or document such as a Will themselves using online software without reference to a solicitor.
What is the product or service?
The Company’s target legal services include: wills and trusts, probate and estate administration, living wills, powers of attorney, pre-nuptial agreements, divorce and conveyancing.
The Company’s goal is to make these processes easily available through user-friendly graphical interfaces, with the legal documents created by its bespoke software downloaded by the customer at the end of the process.
Affio aims to give their customers the online tools to make things clear, simple and legal.
The Company’s first product enables a customer in England or Wales to write a Will and went live in Beta in April 2015.
The Company’s goal is to be the leading self-lawyering company in the UK with the potential to expand to other common law jurisdictions.
