We present shows with a variety of focuses so there is sure to be something for everyone.
We believe that everyone can benefit from theatre. Open casting calls invite people from all walks of life to come into the space and audition, regardless of experience level. Even those too shy to be on the stage have something to gain from taking part as backstage crew, where all the secret magic happens.

WHO WE ARE
Espanolas MainStreet Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and relies on the generosity of volunteers!
To date, the theatre has put on more than twenty theatrical productions, including recitals for classes for youth and adults, full plays, and music performances.
We offer Summer Youth Drama Camps where students are taken through the basics of all things theatre. By learning things like line memorization, set building, stage presence, and costuming, the students create life skills that will stay with them into adulthood. Building strong kids means building a strong community!
EMST is located on Espanols’a westside, a part of town known for gang activity the outside of our building has been vandalized four times in the past year alone. The neighborhood is fighting back against the negativity that has surrounded the area for too long and we are with them in the drive to reclaim Main Street. The young people in the area need an artistic outlet. The theatres location is ideal, with large public housing developments within walking distance and a free bus service directly across the street. Espanola is an underserved city and the central hub for many outlying communities that are even further underserved, including a number of pueblos and small villages.
MISSION STATEMENT

Offering an enjoyable, quality experience to our community through theatrical productions and events;
Generating the necessary resources and efficiently managing those resources in support of these goals
MOVING FORWARD
In addition to the five standard productions for the 2016 year, there are a number of community oriented projects in the works:

Creative Movement – Students learn to use their bodies to express themselves through dance and movement.
Summer Drama Camp – A three week summer youth drama camp intensive that will culminate in a play at the end.
Drama in the Schools – Issue-based plays brought to the schools, put on by students for the rest of the school, along with experts on the topics to answer questions at the end.
