Specified Testing Laboratories, LLC is a holding company of testing laboratories and related operating companies. Formed in September 2013, Specified has acquired to date four testing laboratories that focus on environmental, food, and product testing services. Specified’s 38 employees are lead by several high performing, 20 year + veterans of the environmental and food testing laboratory market. The core of our business is compliance testing of drinking water and waste water for municipal authorities, industry (such as oil refiners, chemical and paper companies) and home owners and inspectors.
Specified acquired and operates the testing lab assets of the following companies: International Hydronics ( acquired Oct 2013); New Jersey Analytical Labs (acquired Nov, 2013), CNA Environmental (acquired Dec 2013); and Smith Environmental Labs (acquired Apr 2014).

I Ethan Einwohner formed Specified Testing Labs, LLC, a roll-up of environmental testing laboratories, in August 2013. Under Specified, Ethan led the acquisitions of the testing lab assets of: International Hydronics Corporation (Oct 2013); New Jersey Analytical Labs (Nov, 2013), CNA Environmental (Dec 2013); and Smith Environmental Labs (Apr 2014). At Specified, Ethan manages all financial aspects of the firm and has responsibilities for its acquisition and integration activities. With his laboratory operations team, Ethan forms and executes company strategy .

Over 25 years in the field of Environmental Analytical Chemistry for both national and medium sized analytical laboratories. I started an environmental lab at Envirogen, a prominent bio-remediation firm in 1991, and grew this asset to $4mm in sales.
In 1999 I established New Jersey Analytical Labs (NJAL). NJAL is a leading laboratory, supporting the environmental community with complete and defendable testing services.
Specialties:Environmental analytical chemistry. Bench scale studies in ERD, chemical oxidation, bioremediation, and new technologies. Drinking water, groundwater-wastewater and soil analytical expert in New Jersey as related to site remediation (LSRP), PWS, PWTA and low level surface water regulations-requirements.
