We want to make a phone by Q3 of 2017 we will initially order 10,000 to 20,000 units which will cost 100,000 to 200,000. The phone will use the new MTK Helio X20 to make sure it is a strong contender in the mobile market, we will have to face brands such as LG, Apple, Lenovo, Samsung. It will feature an nfc function so the consumer can pay for things is shops. It will have a fingerprint scanner so the consumer has and added security.
Complications:
There are many complications that we will face when we are manufacturing the phone and when the phone is on the market. The problems that we will face in manufacturing is making worker injurys a zero free zone as this will slow down the time it will take to manufacture the phone and may even reduce the quality. This can be fixed by introducing health and safety rules within the factories.
The problems we will face when the phone on the market will be mainly competition as they may bring out a phone better and cheaper phone. For example Samsung often release many phones but are usually have low specs meaning they are not fast but they are often cheap (50-150). To tackle this, we will need to roll out monthly updates with new and more interesting features such as fixes to enhance the phones speed or design changes so the UI appeals to different people. We may also find out that the phone doesnt appeal to the consumer (who will be average and business) we will fix this by doing consumer research to find out what different types of people like. These tests will be taken out in the prototype stage of the phones journey.
Money Plan:
Sep 2017: The phone will be released and we will be spending 10,000 for shipping.
Feb 2017: We will announce the phone at a launch event advertising begins 20,000 all together.
Dec 2016: Phone production line starts costs 200,000.
Sep 2016: 2,000 for prototypes and consumer research
